INTERNET SAFETY
Internet Safety is critically important for you to understand. In fact, the Illinois State Board of Education has deemed it so important that you are required to learn about Internet Safety three times in your educational career - once in elementary, once in middle school, and once in high school. Following the rules of Internet Safety are just like following rules elsewhere - there isn't always someone watching what you are doing, so doing the right thing is your responsibility. But knowing the dangers of not following the rules should keep you from wanting to break the rules.
There are many different areas of Internet Safety. They include:
- Identity Theft
- Passwords
- Social networking- using self control
- Reliability of information on websites - how do you know it's real?
- Cyberbullying/harassment - to include cell phones (sexting), chat rooms, blogs, instant messaging
- Accessing inappropriate sites
- Email - phishing, spam, scams

GRADING:
Your grading rubric (a rubric is a set of criteria used to grade how you do on a particular assignment) is shown below. Refer back to this often so you can see what you need to concentrate on in your presentation.
